YES. Variety is reporting that Toronto-based Blue Ice Pictures has acquired the rights for a film adaptation of Toronto Star reporter Robyn Doolittle’s book, Crazy Town: The Rob Ford Story. Doolittle is one of three journalists who have viewed the video in which everyone’s favorite bowling ball-shaped mayor is smoking crack cocaine.
Details on the film are pretty limited, but what we do know is that this is going to be a must see.
Here’s my short list for actors I’d like to see play the honorable mayor:
-Tom Sizemore. He has experience with crack and if he put on about 50 lbs or a fat suit, he might be the perfect fit.
-Brian Dennehy. After seeing the Chris Farley/Rob Ford mashup, it’s only natural that Tom Callahan Sr. himself take the role.
-Bobby Moynihan. The SNL cast member does the best Rob Ford impression of anyone out there.
-Jack Black. He might not nail the character or provide the depth that a Sizemore or Dennehy might, but there’s no doubt he could deliver on the endless spring of comedy that is Rob Ford.

I would definitely see this in theaters, Netflix step aside
Rob Ford as Rob Ford in Rob Ford: The Untold Story.
