While Seinfeld fans were given an appetizer of comedic genius when the original cast reunited during the seventh season finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm in 2009, they have been relegated to watching and rewatching the nine original seasons of the sitcom over & over on DVD or Netflix since.
Well, now it seems fans will get at least one more serving of Jerry & co.
Per Variety:
Jerry Seinfeld’s “secret project” — the one he alluded to during a Reddit AMA earlier this month — is in fact a reunion of “Seinfeld,” the comedian said today.
Appearing on the “Boomer & Carton” radio show on WFAN on Thursday morning, Seinfeld answered a barrage of questions centered around a photo taken on Jan. 13 of Seinfeld with Jason Alexander, walking into the diner that served as a backdrop for many a “Seinfeld” episode.
When broached with questions, Seinfeld was quick to assert that the venture in question was a “short-ish form” project where Jason Alexander was in fact playing the iconic George Constanza and that other original characters were also in the mix. Seinfeld maintained that filming revolved around a “one and done” mindset, all but confirming that there will be a Seinfeld reunion of sorts, which will be seen in the “very, very near future.”
