I’m currently sitting in a coffee shop looking at every table around me. For the last two hours, I’ve heard a girl explain to her boyfriend why he should give the Harry Potter books a chance, three single twenty-somethings justify why they won’t get married until they’re fifty, and a guy who looks like Larry David “listen” to smooth jazz while not realizing his headphones aren’t actually plugged in. The comedic relief of being out in public is all around us. Thankfully, there’s no shortage of Instagram accounts that compile these moments for the masses.
Enter: Overheard New York. Overheard LA started it all and has now reached over 250,000 followers. And recently, they’ve unveiled Overheard New York which is all of the same hilariousness, but less granola and more, well, New York.
As much as I want to hate the young professional yuppie scum who embody and fuel this account, I can’t. Because most of the time, they’re right in what they’re saying. Oh well. .
Will, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but aren’t you pretty much a yuppie too?
Good to know I’m not the only one working on the weekends.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’ve always wanted to be a yuppie and revel in it now that I am one.
That Instagram comment is pretty accurate though
The real question here is why is Will spending 2 hours on his Sunday sitting in a coffee shop? Can’t blame a guy for making sure content never sleeps, but still.
But that’s the reason. Content never sleeps.
You could’ve made one of those hours worth whole spending some time at my Father’s house.
