If you missed hearing from former White House Intern/Presidential mistress/Host of Fox’s “hit” dating show “Mr. Personality” Monica Lewinsky, well, you’re in luck, because she just got herself a Twitter account: @MonicaLewinsky.
The woman who made blue dresses more famous than Cinderella sent out her first tweet today in advance of a speech she’s giving at the Forbes’ Under 30 Summit, her first public speech in 13 years.

Her bio describes her as a “social activist. public speaker. contributor to Vanity Fair. knitter of things without sleeves.” I’m sure if she had more room, she TOTALLY would have talked about how the timing of the launching of this Twitter account has NOTHING to do with the presumption that Hillary Clinton will be announcing her presidential campaign soon. Nuh-uh. No way. Total coincidence. “Boy, is she running for president? I hadn’t heard a thing about it! Freaky timing, that.”

The speech Lewinsky gave at the Forbes’ Under 30 Summit delved into the issue of cyberbullying and online privacy, saying that she was “Patient Zero” of people having their reputation destroyed by the internet, which she related to the suicide of Tyler Clementi, the Rutgers student whose college roommate streamed a video of Clementi kissing another man online.
Lewinsky said that the same situation nearly happened to her:
“While it touched us both, my mother was unusually upset by the story, and I wondered why. Eventually it dawned on me: she was back in 1998, back to a time when I was periodically suicidal; when she might very easily have lost me; when I, too, might have been humiliated to death.”
Like her or hate her, Monica Lewinsky’s Twitter account is going to be a must-follow, especially with rumors that Hillary Clinton’s campaign will launch sometime around the upcoming Midterm Elections. Total coincidence, though..
