My main man, J.B.! Let me tell you something about Justin Bieber. All he does is make heaters. I haven’t heard a single from Bieber in three years that hasn’t been absolute flames. Bieber was reportedly offered a cool $5 million to perform for 45 minutes last week in Cleveland at the GOP Convention. Do I think this was the right move? Abso-fucking-lutely. First off, Bieber is Canadian. He can’t vote. Secondly, if Bieber were to accept this, think about how many fans he’s alienating. Performing at the GOP convention is basically an endorsement.
What kind of message is the GOP trying to send by getting a foreigner to perform at their biggest event of the election cycle? And who in the GOP thought that Justin Bieber was going to resonate with the crowd in Cleve town? Talk about the least relatable demographic for a Justin Bieber show, oh I don’t know, maybe ever. A bunch of crusty old people in Cleveland don’t want to hear “Sorry” and “Cold Water.”
They want to listen to Michael Buble or Harry Connick, Jr. sing the classics. The kid is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. I don’t think Bieber gets out of bed and considers doing a performance for less than 20 million. You think The Biebs can be bought and paid for like some common woman of the night? Fuck outta here, GOP. Pony up some actual spending money or continue having keynote speakers like Chachi from Happy Days. .
