It has finally happened. A cookbook is being written that will appeal to postgrads…and incarcerated felons. Rapper Ja Rule, who was recently released from a New York prison after serving nearly two years on charges of illegal gun possession and federal tax evasion, has plans to take over your kitchen. And by kitchen, I mean microwave.

Ja Rule is currently working on a “microwave cookbook” that was inspired by his time in prison. He told TMZ that “[The food inside] is not too good but you get packages and stuff like that. In jail, they’re pretty crafty. We made lasagna, we made cheesecakes, we had lots of things.” With only a microwave!

I mostly just want to know how prisoners are managing to eat better than I do. I would buy this book solely so that I could upgrade from my Lean Cuisines and Hot Pockets, but I think I’m going to hold out for the audio version. I fully expect him to rap it.
