I have to work the week between Christmas and New Year’s. PGP.
Everyone on my team is on PTO next week which means I’ll be getting paid to do jack shit. I rather enjoy this time of year.
Netflix & chill….
I started work in September, no time off for my first six months. Everyone else in my entire office is off that whole week. I feel ya.
I feel like a few commenters just finished law school and the bar exam – I’d love to see a column on what the early days of being a lawyer are like. I imagine it’s hell but that probably varies on concentration and firm culture
Oh the things I could write. My firm is actually really nice and helpful, but I basically feel like Michael Scott most of the time, and I google the dumbest things on my phone under my desk 80% of the time so nobody actually sees my searches. Law school does NOT prepare you for how to be an attorney.
well if Meghan Markle and Suits have taught me anything, one of the next potential career moves for strong females in corporate law is to become British royalty, so that’s kinda cool
I wouldn’t say no to it lol
Same, started last month.
New company policy means no rollover PTO so I have 6 days in the office during the month of December. Productivity is at an all time low even when I’m at my desk
Unless you hoard your PTO or vacation, isn’t this normal? I know my friend who held on to his PTO got shafted because they went by seniority.
Yeah this is pretty normal. Tbh one of the biggest perks of my job / biggest reasons I haven’t left yet is that we get a high school-style winter break that week
Yeah this is normal.
