Levar Burton just dropped a bomb on the internet, launching a Kickstarter campaign to fund a 21st-Century reboot of “Reading Rainbow.” The campaign aims to grant every child with access to a computer a gigantic database of books, videos and supplemental reading materials. The money raised will allow schools to use the program free of charge. As of 1pm CST, the campaign has raised over $250,000 dollars and is receiving donations in excess of $1000 per minute.
