Montana GOP candidate for US Congress Greg Gianforte might be stressed out. Although he’s a successful businessman and candidate for Congress in a state that leans Republican, Greg’s been taking some heat.
Between polling showing that Gianforte is facing a bit more competition in this month’s special election than was expected, and a report from The Guardian’s Ben Jacobs detailing his financial ties to US-sanctioned Russian companies, Greg could probably use a deep breath and some aroma therapy.
Unfortunately as a Congressional candidate that doesn’t ever happen, so when faced with a perfect shitstorm question about the controversial CBO score on the recently passed AHCA bill asked by the aforementioned Ben Jacobs, Greg kept it real:
Greg Gianforte just body slammed me and broke my glasses
— Ben Jacobs (@Bencjacobs) May 24, 2017
And keeping it real went wrong. We’ve all been asked a question we’re not happy with (“What are we?” or “Sir have you been drinking tonight?”) but usually a quality “No comment” will work just fine. Not apparently for Greg Gianforte, who instead chose to drop a Power Slam on a dude holding a recorder.
Here’s the alleged audio, from the Guardian:

A Fox News team that was on the scene reported an account that corroborates Jacobs’ account:

Two sides, two stories. This probably doesn’t end well for any of us..
There’s only one way to settle this, and that’s a Hell In The Cell winner-take-all match.
Mankind vs. Taker HIAC match is one of the highlights of my adolescent TV years
I want to see Trump body slam a CNN reporter mid press conference.
Honestly, I’d say we’re one more Russian bombshell away from making this a reality:
Hey, how about we don’t make light of violence against journalists, which is an incredibly dangerous precedent?
Learn to laugh at what was clearly a joke
. I’m liberal as fuck and I thought that was funny.
I mean, he’s already done it before. Watch this technique! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MMKFIHRpe7I
“21 Power Moves You Can Pull When Running For Congress”
Lol if you think some guy named Greg from Montana isn’t waiting for the chance to make an example of/physically dominate people he doesn’t like, you are sorely mistaken.
Bold strategy cotton, let’s see if it pays off for them.
Don’t they still do pistol duels in Montana? Jacobs got off easy
Congress would be a lot cooler if it still consistently had at least one or two guys who had killed someone in a duel at any given time
Bring back Jacksonian politics. Nothing says American greatness like saying your only regret is that you never shot your Vice President.
THUNDERDOME.
Based solely on his twitter picture, Jacobs looks like a guy who could use a good body slamming.
Also, body slamming some pencil-necked reporter is probably a great way to win an election amongst the Montana electorate, if we’re honest.
Knuck if you buck
Honestly, if you’re a reporter, getting body slammed by a candidate like a day before an election is pretty much the ultimate PGPM. Anything for the #content
