I’ve hated Nicolas Colsaerts for a while. In the same way that you gain an overwhelming sense of hate for any foreigner playing against Team USA in Olympic hockey, I get the same feeling when watching any player that’s not from America in the Ryder Cup. Ian Poulter, Colin Montgomerie, and yes, even that tiny little dweeb Nicolas Colsaerts.
But I actually kind of respect this move. Monday night, while barefoot in his room at the Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi, Colsaerts took out a 3-iron and opened his hotel window. His golf coach, Kevin Craggs, caught the whole thing on video and put it on Twitter.

Apparently the Belgian’s nickname is actually “The Dude,” which makes a little more sense after seeing him do this. Gotta think they were fancying some pints last night. He always struck me as being a soft, but it takes some stones to blast a 3-iron through a window that late at night with Ladies European Tour player Mel Reid watching.
Kind of reminds me of that Tiger Woods-Rory McIlroy commercial when they were trying to one-up each other and Rory put it through that building’s window.
But you know, with Nicolas Colsaerts instead of two of the greatest players of a generation. .

Breaking: Tourist dies outside Abu Dhabi resort from head injury, apparently caused by golf ball.
You are a gentleman and a scholar.
I’m not going to pretend that was anything other than like hitting a pitch off Dave at his first little league start.
