It was a beautiful fall weekend here in Boston. In fact, it was so gorgeous that it was more shorts and t-shirt weather instead of boots and sweater weather, which seemed to confuse the ladies I saw at Starbucks who were wearing scarves in 80-degree heat.
The amazing weather meant that I spent most of the weekend outside – at a high school football game, at a farmer’s market, doing yard work. Nothing overly exciting, but definitely better than some people’s.
Cardi B
Hip Hop artist Cardi B may have had a number one hit this summer with Bodak Yellow, but that apparently doesn’t buy her much favor with the folks at the Hilton in Albany, New York.
The rapper was thrown out of the hotel early on Sunday morning after a disturbance when hotel security was responding to complaints about noise and the smell of weed coming from her room. Police arrived and escorted Cardi and her crew out of the hotel; on her way through the lobby, Cardi starting yelling about how the hotel staff was racist. Of course, she took to Instagram to explain her side of the story and then deleted the post, in which she called also called the Albany PD racist.
I could say a lot about this, but let’s be honest – is there anything worse than spending a weekend in Albany? [via TMZ]
The Arizona Cardinals
Another Sunday, another quarterback down. This weekend’s victim: the Cardinals’ Carson Palmer.
Palmer was hurt during the second quarter of Arizona’s game against the Rams in London. It was revealed after the Cardinals’ 33-0 loss that Palmer’s non-throwing arm was broken, and he will need surgery that will take him out of action for at least eight weeks.
It didn’t get much better for Arizona after Palmer went out and Drew Stanton took over. An example:

Despite his dismal showing, coach Bruce Arians announced that Stanton will be the starter next week. For the love of god, will you just pick up Colin Kaepernick already?! [via SI]
Francsica Lachapel
As a girl of ample-boobage, one of my biggest fears when I wear something “unusual” – a costume, a bathing suit, a bridesmaid’s dress – is that my boobs will come busting out of their inadequate confines. Thankfully, it hasn’t happened yet, and it certainly hasn’t happened on television, which means I’m currently doing better than Ms. Lachapel.
The host of Univision’s Despierta America was taping a segment in which she played a superhero in a blue unitard when the zipper on the garment gave way, baring her bra on national television.

Netflix
Look very closely at this promo graphic from Netflix:

Do you see it? Well, one observant Netflix viewer caught it on the service’s page for The Babysitter, an original movie about a Satan-worshipping childminder: if you look closely, you’ll see that the babysitter in question has two right hands.
Unless…it’s not a mistake and her matching hands are what drove The Babysitter to her sadistic tendencies? At least that’s what I would claim if I was Netflix’s graphic designer. [via Cosmopolitan ]
Earl Watson
In the NBA, three games is pretty much nothing. I mean, there are 82 games in a team’s season, so losing (or winning) three games isn’t usually that big of a deal. But if you’re the head coach of the Phoenix Suns, losing three games means losing your job.
The Suns’ head coach, Earl Watson, was fired on Sunday after the team had a 0-3 start to the season. Of course, those three losses were blowouts, and one of them, their 124-76 loss to Portland on Wednesday, was the most one-sided season-opening loss in NBA history and the most one-sided loss in team history. But the Suns are in a rebuilding phase and weren’t exactly supposed to be competitive this year anyway, so fans were more than a little surprised when general manager Ryan McDonough and owner Robert Sarver send Watson packing. And apparently, some of his players want to accompany him out of Phoenix:

But honestly, who really wants to be in Phoenix? [via ESPN] .

When you let your 37 year old QB get hit 10 times a game he’s bound to get injured
Never trust a quarterback from USC.
They’ve had a bad run in the NFL, as of late. (Past 10-25 years)
I’d take it a step further and say never trust a Heisman winning QB. Outside of Cam Newton, who’s the last QB who won the Heisman and found success in the NFL? I’d say it’s probably too early to tell on Jameis or Mariota, but go back and look at some recent Heisman QBs. It’s a sad state of affairs.
