Well, you guys – it happened. I finally met the man, the myth, the Bachelor legend, Crick Watson, MD, this weekend. It even went down over artisan donuts:
And yes, that’s Bachelor Nation in the background, because your girl Jenna is a thoughtful gift giver.
But while Crick and I were talking all things medical/Bachelor this weekend, some other people didn’t have it quite as good.
Deven Marrero
It’s Marreo’s first season with the Arizona Diamondbacks after starting his major league career with my beloved Red Sox. He’s got five career home runs, and it looked like he was going to get his first one with the D-Backs on Saturday…until he made what can only be deemed a rookie mistake.
In the top of the fourth inning at Dodger Stadium with two runners on, Marrero hit a pitch from Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Rich Hill over the left-center wall. It should have been a home run, except that Marrero ran past the runner on first, catcher Alex Avila, who headed back to tag up at the base while he waited to see if the ball made it out of the park.
Deven Marrero clobbers what looks like his first HR with the @Dbacks, but after review is called out for passing Alex Avila on the bases. Marrero is credited with a 2-run single and the #Dbacks lead 5-1 in the fourth. pic.twitter.com/3u1iEvuejn

Passing the runner is subject to a manager’s challenge, and in this case it resulted in the homerun being overturned; Marrero was credited with a two-run single and called out at second.
Better luck next time. [via Bleacher Report]
Egg Lovers
It’s well documented that I don’t like eggs, and that’s working in my favor in the latest outbreak of salmonella.
Rose Acre Farms is recalling over 200 million eggs, sold under the brands Country Daybreak, Coburn Farms, Crystal Farms, Sunshine Farms and Glenview, due to potential contamination.
The eggs were sold in in both retail stores and restaurants in Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia and have been connected to 22 illnesses thus far.

Rachel Platten
I’m not going to lie – I’ve belted out Fight Song a time or two when I’ve needed a bit of a kick in the ass. But I definitely won’t be trying to imitate Platten’s version of the National Anthem.
Platten was invited by the National Women’s Soccer League to sing the anthem at Saturday’s game between the Utah Royals and the Chicago Red Stars in Salt Lake City, and let’s just say it did not go as planned:
To her credit, Platten did stay and finish the song and girlfriend can sing, but let be honest: isn’t the first line of the anthem the easiest one to remember?! [via Perez Hilton]
Anyone That Bought This Makeup
We’re all looking to save a few bucks, and those Kylie Lip Kits and Naked palettes are expensive. But after reading this, I’ll be buying all of my makeup at reputable stores from now on.
Police in Los Angeles busted a bunch of locations selling counterfeit makeup on Thursday, and what they found inside of the knock-offs is disgusting to say the least:
Busted! Major Task Force hits 21 locations in the @LAFashionDist and nets $700,000 in Counterfeit cosmetics found to contain bacteria and human waste. The best price is not always the best deal! #ProtectingOurCommunity pic.twitter.com/gliJ8L2F9F

LAPD Detective Rick Ishitani said that part of the problem is that the packaging of the fake makeup can be identical to some of the brand names, such as MAC, Urban Decay and NARS, and the only way some people find out that what they bought is a counterfeit is to open the product, which isn’t allowed at the businesses in Santee Alley, where the raid took place.
Ugh, if you need me, I’ll be washing my face for at least the next two hours. [via ABC7]
Garry Frank
The weather has been crazy this year and it’s been frustrating for all of us. But it looks like it’s been most frustrating for Frank, a meteorologist for WXMI-TV Fox 17 West Michigan, who basically just lost his shit during a live broadcast:
Even though it's my job to give them the information (even with warmer temps in the forecast,) they still complain!! I've HAD it!!! Hahaha pic.twitter.com/UcUiuufcL1

Dear Garry – I feel you, my friend. As the HR lady, nothing I ever do is good enough either. [via USA Today] .
