The end is here folks. Summer is finally coming to a close. “But, it isn’t even Labor Day?!” you may say to yourself while reading this. It doesn’t matter what you want. It doesn’t matter that it is still 90 degrees outside. It doesn’t matter that it is only August. Because we live in a society where fall is king and pumpkin is his queen. According to their website, Dunks has already released pumpkin flavors in the Metro New York area as of August 18th. And the rest of will be getting pumpkin and a few other new fall flavors here shortly.
In addition to classic pumpkin, Dunkin’ Donuts will offer a new way for coffee lovers to satisfy cravings for fall flavors, introducing Salted Caramel flavored coffee, lattes and macchiatos, also available for a limited time at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants by August 29. Served hot or iced, Dunkin’ Donuts’ new Salted Caramel flavored coffees combine sweet and salty in a delicious blend for fall.
If you jumped out of your seat and wet yourself a little bit with excitement at this announcement then kindly hang yourself from the nearest apple tree with your plaid Nordstrom scarf and leave the rest of us to enjoy the remaining warm sunny days of the year. Don’t get me wrong, I love fall.
Fall flavors are good, and football season is incredible. But why is everyone in such a rush to get out of summer? Back to school shopping, fall flavors, Halloween decorations – all of it is already out there and we haven’t even hit September. At a wedding this past weekend I very well could have ordered my last Sam Summer of the year. Pumpkin nonsense has already displaced shandys and summer ales on the shelf and the last of the summer kegs are getting kicked as we speak.
When it’s blistering hot out and I can still get some color from the bow of my parent’s boat, I’m not trying to bake apple pies and carve pumpkins. Let’s take a breath America, we technically have a few more weeks left of summer. At the very least, get that PSL on ice..

As much as I obsess over fall, I agree completely that all the fall stuff should wait until after Labor Day. It just doesn’t feel right otherwise.
Too much of a good thing, will ruin a good thing.
Christmas music will be playing soon.
I always think it’s weird walking into the grocery store from the August heat and seeing pumpkin spice oatmeal and candy corn displays.
I want to like fall but it’s so damn short and you you know that you just have a dark, cold winter ahead. Fall is like the Sunday evening of the year. No matter how beautiful the sunset is, I’m too busy dreading what’s ahead to enjoy it.
Take that global warming campaigns!!
It’s the same shit with seasonal beers. They rotate way too early. It’s 90 degrees in the middle of August, oh great that Pumpkin Ale will really hit the spot. Oktoberfest, while I still think August is too early, I can at least understand since Oktoberfest in Germany starts in September. Christmas Ales in October. Spring seasonals when it’s snowing sideways in February. It’s madness I tell you! Madness!
It ain’t fall till the basic bitches can get their pumpkin spice late.
Cracker Barrel already has their Christmas display up. Talk about too early.
my boyfriend and I were drinking Oktoberfest and harvest pumpkin shandy all night last night.
I love Oktoberfest and pumpkin beers as much as the next guy but wait a month. It’s August.
Good for y’all.
You people are the reason it’s impossible to find enough Sam Summer for a proper Labor Day summer send off and I don’t like you for it.
It’s still shandy season
