Don’t do it! Did this myself and it was a major waste of money paying for rent, food, car etc in NY without any income coming in until I found a job I liked months later. You will get bored (unless you’re traveling and spending more of what you’ve saved), and there’s nobody to hang out with during the day. Grin and bear it while you look for a better situation, and take a month off before starting your next job to travel or do whatever.
