Cold feet before your wedding are common, but a cold case is an entirely different strategy for evading your big day. Tucker Blandford faked his own death rather than fall into the cliché of food poisoning, traffic, or sleeping through his alarm.
Blandford first met Alex Lanchester in 2012 when she was a student in Connecticut. They fell in love, got engaged, and planned on an August 15, 2014 wedding. Their romance took a turn when prior to the wedding, Blandford impersonated his father and called Lanchester to inform her that his son had committed suicide.
His bold strategy did not pay off and his grief stricken bride called his mother, only to find out what he was in fact, alive. His intentions to avoid marriage were not as last minute as his phony death because Lanchester soon discovered that he had never even booked the venue.
It is unclear how long he was planning on hiding from Lanchester but Blandford, who has since admitted to this stunt, might now be wishing he was actually off the grid.

Read the same story the other day except it said he claimed to have died in a car accident.

I bet he just forgot to book the venue and never got around to telling anyone until it was way too late. Classic guy move.
I am 100% sure that she wrote that in the column. Reading comprehension…it helps. champ.
