HBO isn’t the only one planning to siphon money off of us with streaming services anymore. Following HBO’s announcement that they will be offering independent streaming that can be purchased without a cable subscription, CBS promptly responded with a, “me too!” CBS announced that they plan to follow the exact type of service for $5.99 a month.
I’m sure they thought this was a great marketing tactic, considering it’s a couple dollars cheaper than a Netflix or Hulu subscription, but the joke’s on them, because I don’t know a single person who watches CBS, outside of NFL games.
According to the announcement, this will offer you all-access streaming to shows such as The Good Wife, Blue Bloods, and Survivor, as well as old episodes of Star Trek, Cheers, MacGyver, Twin Peaks, and CSI Miami. Their only selling point, in my opinion, is that they will be including streaming of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, so it seems that both men and calorie-deprived women everywhere will want to purchase this service the day before and cancel immediately after until next year.

Happy to see this start happening. I assume pretty soon some company will come around and find a way for consumers to pick and choose which subscriptions THEY WANT and bundle it into one monthly price.
