As previously discussed, the Bad Boys movies, and in particular, Bad Boys II are high on my list of all-time favorites. As such, I’ve been waiting with baited breath for the arrival of the third film in the franchise. And now it looks like I will have to wait just a little bit longer, as Sony has announced a new release date for Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett’s next adventure.
Variety is reporting that Sony has announced that the film will hit theaters on January 12, 2018. The film was actually originally slated for release on February 17, 2017, was pushed back to June 2, 2017 and has now been pushed back again, all due to undisclosed reasons. Although, (totally fake) sources say Nelly, P.Diddy, and Murphy Lee are responsible for the delay, citing issues in writing “Shake Ya Tailfeather 2.0.”
While there was originally some question as to if Will Smith would return to the franchise, he confirmed earlier this year that he is indeed on board. Which is good, given the official title of the new film: Bad Boys 3: Bad Boys For Life. The movie with that title simply could not be made without Smith, who uttered the line in Bad Boys 2 in a scene which may or may not have made me cry.
One more piece of good news: the pushed back date of Bad Boys 3 (or it’s seemingly finalistic title) reportedly will not affect the date for the 4th movie, which is slated to drop July 3, 2019. Woosah!

Bad Boys II is very under appreciated
Not by me. IMO, it’s better than the original.
I agree. I mean by basically the entire world
Sup?
We ride together, we die together.
How could Mike Bolton not love a movie franchise consisting exclusively of black guys, rap music, and explosions?
Bad Boys 2 is definitely one of my top 10 favorite movies. I can’t wait for this.
I got really excited just now when I found out there was going to be a third movie, then that excitement vanished when I read we have to wait until 2018.
