Looks like we can no longer lean on the “I’m unemployed and living in my parents basement because the economy sucks and no one can get a job” excuse. At least not like those lucky bastards back in ’08 could. According to recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2% of the workforce quit their jobs in September. Yippee!
Listen, I’m not even going to touch the whole “this is proof the economy is getting better” thing, because although I do have a cursory understanding of the basic principles of capitalism and free markets, I do not, in fact, have a cursory understanding of how to count. So I’m gonna go ahead and nip that crusade-in-the-comments-section right in the bud. Sorry, guys.
All I see here is that we’re quitting our jobs again! Who cares that there are jobs to be had if those jobs suck balls? Isn’t that like the scientific thesis of #PGP? JUST KIDDING. But the irony is not lost on me. Yes, maybe it’s easier for us to get jobs now versus six years ago, but we all basically suck at them or hate them or both. The bottom line, however, is that we probably should be grateful in some sense. The struggle was probably more real back then than it is now. So get back to that spreadsheet that absolutely no one is going to look at.
