If you clicked on this without watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones. Congratulations, you’ve just ruined the most satisfying death in the entire series for yourself, because:
JOFFREY IS DEAD!
Wooooooooo!
Anyway, now the question lingers: Whodunnit? Was it Tyrion? Was it Sansa? Was it Ser Dontos? Was it Cersei? Turns out the answer is right in front of your eyes.
Ser Dontos, Joffrey’s fool, who Sansa saved in the season two premiere, gives Sansa a necklace. A necklace Lady Tyrell had been looking for with seven crystals.
While giving her condolences to Sansa about her entire family being murdered or whatever, Lady Tyrell plucks one of the crystals off of Sansa’s necklace and somehow gets it into Joffrey’s wine cup.
And voila, the king is dead.
But who put it in Joffrey’s cup? Who are the other conspirators? Why isn’t it next Sunday already?

I know he may be the most hated character ever but, I really must stress how well that part was acted. He played the part so perfectly.
This 100%. I’m actually disappointed he is gone since he was so fun to hate. It’s like when Barry Bonds retired, yeah I hated him, but he was just so damn good that baseball was better with him around.
It was the Tyrells
You either read Storm of Swords, @BrianPGP, or you are a very observant bastard. Either way, props!
Or I just hunt down everything on Imgur. Those people are fine at internetting.
Thankfully I watched yesterday, but your column description stats that Joffrey is dead without having to click on the article.
“You Saw How They Pulled Off That Murder Last Night On “Game Of Thrones,” You Just Don’t Know It Yet (SPOILERS)” I don’t see how?
not on the home page. But if you actually click on columns.
“Das it mane” killing me over here with these gifs.
Because by killing Joffrey, Margaery is now Queen. By framing Tyrion, Sansa might be able to actually marry Lorris (sp?) Tyrell like they originally planned. Unlike the Starks who try to solve conflicts the honorable way by charging into battle, the Tyrells beat the Lannisters the only way possible, by playing their own game.
I’ve not read the books, so I don’t know if Sansa will actually re-marry (probably not) or if the Lannisters are actually done- still have Cersei, Jamie, Tywin, and even the Mountain to deal with and they wouldn’t introduce Oberyn if he didn’t get at least a little taste of his revenge.
Stick around, it is about to get really interesting.
Wait, just remembering Littlefinger talking to Margaery back in season 2. By framing Tyrion from Sansa, Littlefinger can now pursue Sansa, since we all know he’s had the hots for her mother, Katelyn Stark.
It is very clear now.
Ser Dontos pulling Sansa out of the wedding moments before Joffrey falls dead leads me to believe that he is responsible.
