Earlier today, a Federal judge in San Antonio ruled that Texas’ ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. This ruling may have also led to one of the greatest tweets in Twitter history. State Senator Dan Patrick and self-proclaimed “Authentic Conservative” running for Lt. Governor tweeted this:
The fun doesn’t end there. Patrick then stumbled to find an excuse to cover up his attempt at homophobia. The natural course of action in this case is to fire your social media intern, which is exactly what he did.
Patrick then solidified his position as a bigot by clarifying his stance that two dudes should NOT ever be married to one another.
What makes you think he had an intern? He never says that, just that the position is open. I’m sure it’s a new position.
I’m actually very curious to know if the intern firing was just a joke or he actually did it.
More likely he tweeted the original tweet, then as a joke he said he needed a social media intern because he’s too incompetent to do it himself. I get it guys!
Please explain how believing marriage should be between a man and a woman has anything to do with homophobia? And why does that opinion make someone a bigot?
For the love of God, can we just let the gays get married so they and everyone else can STFU about it? If it doesn’t affect you, you shouldn’t care.
Which analogy would you like? The ‘they can’t have ice cream because I don’t like it/don’t think it is safe’ analogy is my favorite. If you get to tell someone they can’t get married (or eat ice cream) because you don’t like it or because you think it is harmful is ridiculous and homophobic (being afraid of someone different) and bigoted (being intolerant of differing viewpoints). Should I draw you a picture, slick?
“bigoted (being intolerant of differing viewpoints)”
So exactly what you’re doing? I asked two simple questions and you cannot answer them without making some absurd analogy about eating ice cream. You have no idea what I think of the issue, yet you attack me without any facts because a question is asked that forces you to think outside you progressive box.
The country has reached a point of no return and is becoming a dangerous place. Not because gay people can get married, but because people cannot accept that other people do not think they way they want them to.
And just so you know (before your deflect your own bigotry onto me), I don’t believe the government should be involved in any marriages. You shouldn’t need a permission slip from some low-life government agency that says you can get married to somebody.
