How is it that 48 hours between Monday and Friday go by so slow, but they speed by when its Saturday and Sunday? I didn’t have nearly enough time to get down everything I needed/wanted to do this weekend, but isn’t that always the case? But even if I didn’t get everything done this weekend, at least I’m not these people.
This Golf Fan
If there’s one sport that I figured you’d be relatively safe at as a spectator, it would be golf. I mean, it’s not like baseball, where you could get beaned by a fly ball, or hockey, where fights break out on the regular. But one fan learned on Friday that watching golf may not be as safe as it seems.
On the 15th hole at the WinCo Foods Portland Open on Friday, golfer Kevin Stadler angrily slammed his club into the ground and against his foot, which caused the club head came loose, fly into the crowd, and hit a fan in the head. The fan, whose name has not been released, was transported to a hospital, given six stitches, and released.
According to People, Shaun Micheel, another golfer playing with Stadler on the Web.com Tour, which is a developmental tour featuring professional golfers who are not currently playing on the PGA Tour, commented about the incident on Facebook, saying:
“For anyone wanting to offer some advice to their young ones about golf etiquette, take what I’m about to say to heart. One of my playing partners played a poor shot with a 7-iron on the par-3 15th hole [Friday] morning. In a fit of anger, he slammed his club against the ground and the inside of his foot, which caused the club to break about 6 inches from the bottom.
I had my head down but the club head flew behind me and hit a spectator to my right. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen so much blood,” he continued, adding that the players stayed with the spectator for “about 15 minutes” until the EMTs arrived.
The player [Stadler] was absolutely shattered and we did our best to keep his spirits up. This was not done on purpose and we were astounded at the way the club was directed but it just shows you how dangerous it is to throw or break clubs. Each of us in the group learned something today.
I think I’ll just continue watching my golf from home. [via People]
Elon Musk
If there’s one thing I cherish, it’s my sleep. Unfortunately for me, if I want to be a billionaire, I’m apparently not allowed to get any.
On Friday, Ariana Huffington published an open letter to Tesla founder Elon Musk discussing his 120-hour a week work-week, saying in part:
As you told the New York Times, you’ve exhausted yourself working 120-hour weeks at the expense of seeing your children and your friends. You’ve had days-long stretches where you shut yourself inside the Tesla factory and don’t even go outside. You don’t take vacations. There’s no way you can connect with your amazing vision and creativity when you don’t give yourself time to reconnect not just with those you love but also with yourself and your wisdom.
Huffington’s point? That Musk allow himself the work-life balance we all strive to achieve. But as of 5:32am Sunday morning, Musk wasn’t having it:
Ford & Tesla are the only 2 American car companies to avoid bankruptcy. I just got home from the factory. You think this is an option. It is not.

Well, if I have to choose between sleep and being a billionaire…I guess I’ll never be rich. [via New York Post]
Paxton Lynch
You probably thought I was going to say that the Broncos quarterback had a bad weekend because his own fans booed him when he took the field versus the Chicago Bears on Saturday night. Or that his weekend was crappy because he was sacked twice and finished 5-of-11 for 39 yards with zero touchdowns in the 24-23 loss. And while both of those suck, what probably brought down Lynch’s weekend was his coach’s comments about the incident.
After the game, Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said,
I feel bad for Paxton, but our fans want to win. That’s what it’s about. It’s about passion, I should say. But I feel bad for Paxton. He has to ignore it and go play. It’s professional football. No one is going to hold your hand, so he has to go out there and perform.
Nothing like hearing your coach pretty much thinks that you are not the guy who can win. [via Bleacher Report]
Ramen Lovers In Fayette County, GA
If you were hoping to get some ramen noodles in Fayette County, GA this weekend, you were crap out of luck.
A 53-foot trailer with nearly $100,000 worth of ramen noodles was stolen from a Chevron store on Georgia Interstate Highway 85 north. Police are still looking for the noodle thief, and there is a possibility the crime is connected to a string of other thefts in the area.
There’s no word on exactly how many ramen packages were on the trailers, but if you figure that there was six figures worth of something that’s sold for less than 50 cents a piece…it must be a life time supply. [via Huffington Post]
Hooters
Millennials are accused of ruining pretty much everything, and now we can add one more thing to the list: Hooters.
According to Business Insider, “People from the age of 18 to 24 are 19% less likely to search for breasts on pornographic website Pornhub compared to all other age groups, according to an analysis conducted by the website,” and as such, “breastaurants” like Hooters and Twin Peaks are suffering. For example, over the last few years, Hooters has had to close more than 7% of its U.S. locations due to slow sales.

I think the more accurate reason a lot of these restaurants are suffering is because their food sucks…..
and “young adults” don’t want to go into hooters with a bunch of old dudes oogling at boobs
We have instagram models to ogle anyway.
I blame Sir Mix-a-lot and Sisqo for brainwashing an entire generation
Props to Elon – the guy is driven and although Tesla may not be reaping the benefits right at this moment, he’s giving it his all to make it work regardless. No one knows their own work ethic and their abilities besides themselves.
He’s a fraud.
Without my searches, that 19% down would be more like 25% down.
Keep fighting the good fight
this must be why Groupon keeps offering me $10 to Hooters for $0
Is anyone ever really “awake”? I mean, a lot of people still have a hard time accepting how this world actually operates behind the scenes lol
You tell these sheep how it is bro.
