If you’re a fan of Post Grad Problems, the Touching Base Podcast, or anything Grandex Media related, and you weren’t aware of the Grandex Labs experimental podcast feed, let me give you a quick rundown to get you up to speed. If you search Grandex Labs on iTunes, you will come across a feed loaded with podcast concepts we’re trying to breathe some life into here in Austin, Texas. From fan projects like the Westworld themed Freeze All Motor Functions podcast with Ross Bolen and Jared Borislow, to the ins and outs of love and relationships in Don’t Take It From Us, there’s a little bit of something for everyone.
And then there’s Supps Dawg.
Dubbed “the fitness podcast that no one asked for,” Supps Dawg is an everyman’s (and everywoman’s in 2018) fitness, lifestyle, and nutrition podcast hosted by myself and Dan Regester. We focus heavily on the lifestyle aspect of that trifecta, real world experiences with workout routines and nutrition, and we leave in-depth science and research to the experts – some are even nice enough to come on the show. If you haven’t heard one of our shows yet, feel free to jump in anywhere you please.
This week, Dan and I joined Conner Moore of the Pleasure Monkey Podcast (awesome listen btw) at the infamous Onnit Gym in Austin, Texas. Conner has an extensive background in crossfit, human optimization, and most importantly, life. Throughout the episode, we describe in full detail a workout involving 150 lb sandbags, sled pulls and pushes, and myself tapping out at about 3/5ths of the way through… all while Dan is powering through on about 500 mg of caffeine and Producer Micah takes in the moment recordings as we lift. From there we answer questions and talk about life, expectations, and the rewards of getting out of your comfort zone. Side note, unbeknownst to us, Steve Aoki was just getting a pump on while we were there.
If you’re still interested, give the episode a listen, see if you like it, and keep following along with us. This podcast is kind of our baby, and we want to keep it going for a long, long time. If you want to get on the podcast with a question, call us at 800-392-6344 or DM us on either Twitter or Instagram at @suppsdawg, and be sure to check out all the other great podcasts Grandex Labs has to offer.
Podcast has good parts. I think maybe incorporating more PGP into it and less bro science like last few episodes. Dave on was great. More stuff like that. Struggles of am workouts, various gyms pros/cons, how to navigate a packed gym(like New Year podcast), functional workout routines for postgrads, Dillion on(how has this not happened yet??), etc. Seems like last few episodes have tried to be more novelty than depth and while it’s awesome to try different things, some consistency would be appreciate. Just food for thought.
Sounds like you want touching base.
No you and jake are great. I meant him as a guest since he is a grandex guy that lifts, my bad.
It spawned from the TFM podcast so I assume it’s geared more for a younger demographic than us, but I wouldn’t mind them showing us some love.
Easily the creepiest lead in photo in PGP history, and for that reason, I’m out
