This is why I wake up and do what I do. There are mornings when you sit down at your desk and the universe opens itself up to you, showing you that the path you’re on is the right one. That’s how I felt when I wrote this headline. This one practically writes itself.
Fox 45 in Baltimore was ready to throw it to their traffic correspondent “Traffic Jam Jimmy” and get the morning traffic report, but Jimmy was already a tad preoccupied.
Please acknowledge that what you have just witnessed was one of the greatest live news shots in the history of live news shots. First off, the dude’s name is Traffic Jam Jimmy. With a nickname like that, you’d think he’d be the authority on the constantly gridlocked DMV area. Instead, the camera shows him shouting at an automated McDonalds drive-thru trying to order a Filet-o-fish during breakfast hours. Rather than doing a live mea culpa, TJJ KEEPS ORDERING HIS FOOD. Like, “Oh shit, I guess I should be doing my job right now, but I haven’t eaten since 4 a.m. so let me just finish up this food order and I’ll let you folks know about how terrible the traffic is.”
How terrible was the traffic? Well, apparently it was terrible enough for Jimmy to hastily tell people to just stay in their homes and don’t go anywhere. I wish that was the traffic report every morning..
