I don’t think there’s ever been a better era of wasting time than this one. Instead of actually doing your work, you can waste hours on end just clicking through random links on Wikipedia, Sporcle your brain into oblivion, wade through mountains of porn and treat your browser like a two dollar hooker.
Well, thanks to a group called JSMESS, you can now play 900+ classic internet Arcade games at the click of your mouse. No downloads, complicated and quasi-illegal ROMs or quarters required.
Welcome to The Internet Arcade.
Pretty much any classic arcade game you can think of is in there, all you have to do is click on it: Frogger. Ghouls and Ghosts. Dig Dug. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Super Pac Man. Sega’s Star Trek. Galaga. Atari’s Return of the Jedi. STREET FIGHTER II. What more do you need?!
Notable absences: “Donkey Kong” for one, probably because Nintendo’s VERY litigious about this sort of thing. Pretty much any game with main characters that are still prominent, with the exception of Pac Man, because that dude’s everywhere.
It’s not seamless by any stretch, still a ton of bugs to work out, but all-in-all, this is a pretty killer way to waste time. Check it out, let me know which ones are your favorites. Then I’ll break your high score and make your mom buy me Pizza. Dork.
Now, let’s get N64 games on the ‘net and we’ll be sitting pretty.

This seems like a very deliberate attempt to get me fired, JayTas. Plus side, I’d be able to play all these games from the luxury of my couch if I do get fired, instead of at my desk at work.
