The Swedish are taking over. Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” is the most streamed song on Spotify, recently cracking 200 million plays. The song is played on average 3.8 million times a week on Spotify. The previous record holder was “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons with 180 million plays.
“I’m so excited to be the first artist to reach 200 million streams on Spotify,” Avicii said in a statement released on Twitter. “I’ve had an amazing year, so a massive thanks to all of my fans!”
I’m still shocked it isn’t “Return of the Mack” by Mark Morrison.
