I can see him proposing on a random day (not Paris) when she doesn’t have her nails done/doesn’t like how the proposal is happening and freaking out and saying “NOT NOW TODD” or something batshit like that.
I experience this ALL the time. It sucks and I feel for you. My boyfriend is constantly confused by it and says things like, “How do you not realize how tiny you are?” It sounds like a bitchy problem to have but it genuinely bothers me constantly that I feel like I look way bigger than my peers/friends and impacts self-confidence a lot. Long way of saying, I appreciate you sharing this experience and you are not alone!
Re: the first question. I had a similar thing when I started dating my ex. I actually booked a hotel to visit him and then things felt right so he ended up staying at my hotel for the first night I visited, and then I ended up staying with him the rest of the trip. It was nice to have both options, but also extra $$$.
A few things:
The first story is legit me and my bf- he’s 46, I’m 29 and it drives me INSANE when he doesn’t respond to my texts within an hour or two. It boggles my mind how he just “doesn’t check his phone at work,” but he is old so whatever I guess.
The last story- Dillon, your response is spot on (checks out). My bf actually worked in the same building as his ex and it was never even an issue- he would run into her occasionally and say hi, but it didn’t cause any drama between us b/c she didn’t matter anymore.
Love your mailbag posts- keep ’em coming.
