For the question about who pays for the wedding – it really depends on the family/the means of the family/the means of the couple. I was in a wedding last week where I know the groom’s family paid for pretty much everything, partially because they had the means to and partially because their family alone made up about 75% of the guests. There’s no hard and fast rule anymore.
A guy I dated in college sold Cutco knives. A few months of being exclusive and I suggested he come with me and meet my family and he said only on the condition that he could make his sales pitch to them, since he’d be “missing out on a lot of opportunities” if he spent the weekend at my parents’ place. The relationship did not last.
I manage to put away 25% of every paycheck just by putting myself in a mentality that it doesn’t belong to me and just to forget about it. It belongs to future me and/or future spawn.
Had a smelly dick experience with the ex – he was otherwise good with hygiene, didn’t eat particularly smelly food, just smelled bad. Just out of curiosity – is the guy uncircumcised? The ex was the only guy I’ve ever been with who was, and while I’ve never heard that dicks with hoods smelled worse, I’m wondering if that could be related?
To the under 6’0 writer: the only time a guy being under 6’0 makes him less attractive/appealing to me is when he makes a big deal out of his height or seems overly insecure about it. I’m 5’1 and have dated guys who were 5’3/5’4. Not going to be a big deal unless you make it one, and girls who are that shallow probably aren’t worth it anyway.
I don’t see the issue with this. I grew up in both a very conservative area/state and a very liberal area/state and we had similar curriculum in multicultural education in both. Having the one day where people bring in foods from their cultures or reading a book by a Chinese-American author count as teaching tolerance of other cultures. This is generally what’s meant by educators. I’m not going to get sucked into a culture wars argument – one of my favorite things about this site is that it’s somewhere we can go and have a good time without politics.
I didn’t turn him down though, I just hesitated? We were speaking my second language so it took me a second to realize he was inviting and not just telling. Ah well, mystery solved.
I wish I had done this a couple months back. I met a guy in a bar, made out there, then a few days later went on a lunch date. He asked me if I wanted to go out with him and some friends later that night and paid for my drinks (I definitely didn’t pressure him to do this, I was hesitant to say yes) then said he’d text me and never did and never answered the 2 messages I sent after. I’ve been ghosted before but that situation still confuses me
Honestly I’d be okay with this series ending in a murder-suicide at this point, it’d keep my blood pressure from skyrocketing around midday every Wednesday
To the tall girl: I agree, that’s something you should be honest about up front. But a lot of guys do like that – I have a physical feature that a lot of guys say they hate (short hair) but it’s obviously one of the first things they see when they meet me/see me in a dating profile. I can’t really hide it in a profile (unless I used pics from 7 years ago, which I don’t) but I haven’t had much trouble dating because there are plenty of totally guys who are fine with/into it and I’ve been up front about my appearance because I know it can be a dealbreaker with some dudes

Who were these girls who just let you snooch in them? Just as much on them as it is on you
Ethiopian food is delicious – don’t wuss out and miss out.

Fake proposal to a girl you’ve been dating almost 4 years is a dick move. Boyfriend* deserves it.
I work for WFM but still prefer Trader Joe’s honestly
If you feel the need to describe yourself as mature you probably aren’t

The god-awful reveals that only answered about 5% of unanswered questions made me an annoying PLL fan
Interesting perspective, is that really how most guys think?

Sex on the first date is a definite no-no, second date is cool though, third is probably best but I’m usually a second-date person so I might not know

The poop scene was definitely gross but it had some seriously skilled editing
