@Asshole Boss Girl, I know it’s scary and goes against what most people recommend, but I just left a job without a healthy work environment without any position lined up. I worked my tail off throwing myself into job applications and interviews and ate into my savings. But I recently was offered a job at an amazing company and would never have had the time to put my applications first otherwise. I had to trust myself, check my pride, and acknowledge that, yeah, maybe I’d have to work at Trader Joe’s or something (great benefits!) until the right thing came along, and I’m so happy I trusted myself and put my mental health first. We’re too young to be that miserable. You can do it.
Maybe the dynamic is different with guys, but I was a bridesmaid for and was invited to my brother’s fiancee’s bachelorette party and had an absolute blast. My now-SIL has two brothers, and my brother had both of them as groomsmen and they came on his bachelor party to Austin. Everyone seemed to have a great time and nothing was weird afterward! Maybe I’m in the minority here, but if your future BIL isn’t a complete beast isn’t it a nice move to extend the invitation and let him know you consider him a part of your circle now?
As long as everything goes well at your appointment, yes, you should. Confirm with the US CBP staff member at your appointment, but that’s what they told me when I went.
When I went in for my Global Entry appointment it took quite literally five minutes (picture and a fingerprint). It took a few weeks to get it in the mail, but you don’t actually need to receive it or have it activated to to reap the benefits!
Personally, I’m all in on the one-time in-person offer to pay for airfare, then surprise your boyfriend’s parents by treating them to a nice meal one night while on the trip.
My mom and my dad’s sister have the same first name AND my brother’s wife and I have the same first name. The only time it gets weird is when I’m talking about her and someone thinks I’m talking about myself in the third person. Other than that it’s really not weird at all, even though that makes two generations of men marrying women with their sister’s names.
My mom has been planning for grandchildren since before I hit puberty. As I would outgrow toys and books, she’d keep some of the good ones instead of donating them and put them into a box labeled “grandchildren.” My brother just got married so hopefully he and his wife will take off the pressure once they have a couple.

Just moved in with the SO last week … getting that membership is TOP of our to-do list this weekend.
