Most new cars have at minimum a 5 year/60k powertrain warranty so hopefully you’re close enough in the mileage. If they do say no definitely get up with their customer service/their accounts.
As said I figured this was kind of understood. I do find myself punctuating my texts more consistently as I get older and have no problem if this is how I come off.
Though when my mother replies with a confirmation that she got a message, it’s often a “K.” – double whammy. I’ll admit when I get that I still take a minute to consider whether I’ve disappointed her.
Thanks for another great piece. I spent the better part of the year on the job hunt. It took longer than I might have hoped and going through some prospects that would have been okay but didn’t work out. I finally found something that was not only better, but also allowed me to see the experience and knowledge I do have as an asset rather than a liability. And at the same time I’m seeing my interests as something that can be more than just that.
It’s also helped that I find myself surrounded by better people, not just professionally but personally.
I still don’t know what I really want out of life and don’t expect to, but I feel so much better working on myself now.
I try not to be one to dwell on things (if I did I’d spend an hour in the toothbrush aisle debating which to get) but I have to be careful not to dwell on what it would be like if I could apply that to the first half of my 20s.
The couple who grocery shops doesn’t really bother me except when they’re also the PDA couple. Does an old Kroger really get you that hot? At least save it for the Teeter or Publix.
…not meant to imply sticking with an old car just for no payment is bad. But that at least I’m not paying for a car i don’t like having. Felt like I should have worded that better. Worked in automotive, saw that happen a lot.
Seems like that section shifted subject a bit. It mentions he “wasn’t nearly as specific” at first, and the second half just refers to getting a “luxury sedan.”
Lincoln or not, it’s pretty impractical, and out of place with the rest of the points. A “luxury sedan” is hardly indicative of success. There’s plenty of both successful old money types with Tahoes and young girls in a cheap “luxury sedan” that dad might have got them for a first car. Generalizations work for neither.
Buy what you like. If it’s a big concern, being presentable should he the main thing like you said.
I’ve usually been team two showers, both because I would usually work out after work and because like George Costanza, I’m like “a human heat pump” coupled with humid NC summers.
Last winter I cut it back to an evening shower after I realized that the only thing heated up in the my thin-walled old apartment were the utility bills. So the cold air “preserved” the shower, and washing my face and coffee were enough to start the day. Then over the summer work had me going in and out of the summer heat and part-time A/C, so to shower in the morning felt like a waste when I knew I’d be sweating in an hour either way.
Now I’ve been at a new job for two weeks and happy to say I’m back with team two showers since I actually want to look and feel fresh in the morning again.
You get 10 cents off for every $100, and you can use that at a lot of Shell stations too. Buying gift cards gives double points, or 4x on weekends here right now. And that’s not Kroger gift cards but places like major restaurants or department stores (Chipotle, Target, that sort).
Alcohol doesn’t count towards fuel points though. PGP.

If you’re that worried about splash back, standing at that same stall should put enough distance between you. Even so, is it any worse than the shared keyboards or chairs you might use throughout a workday?

People will respect “I don’t have/want a car payment.”
(Unfortunate I do have a payment but at least I like the car.)
You aren’t required to do maintenance at a dealership to maintain coverage under the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act.
Though a lot of automakers throw in complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first few services.
