Agree with all these. Would also like to add: Why aren’t we making Independence Day the first Thursday in July? Yes, I know “July 4th and all that” but hear me out. It should be a Thanksgiving type situation — half day Wednesday, get drunk Thursday, recover friday — have a relaxing weekend. Nobody wins when the 4th is in the middle of the week and it’s not like Halloween where we collectively choose a weekend to celebrate. I think this would go a long way in bringing the country together.
