C’mon Bill, your number is 60K, my number is 35K, you didn’t work out I was providing single earner income vs household? I’m also all-in on racking up those points but it’s easier to rack them up if you have plenty of money to spend to earn them.

My older brother (ten years) and his wife are coming into town tomorrow from SF for a week. So excited to show him around the neighborhood and that I resemble a successful adult now. Going to try ribs on the smoker for the first time, drink my homebrew kegged hefeweizen, and generally just enjoy RiNo.

You don’t have to be RICH to travel, but the median single income in the country is like $35,000 a year. Your airfare alone for those trips is what, north of 10% of that? It’s easy to lose context when you’re surrounded by wealthy people, but you (and I) aren’t really representative of the median earner. That said, shit, you can see a lot of the United States or Canada for the price of gas and a tent.

My second hobby is brewing beer. You can drink regular beer or liquor while you’re doing it and waiting for it to be ready, then you can drink the beer. Since I understand fermentation well, I’m thinking about taking up a third hobby: distilling.

Exactly. I have guests on my list who are married who I barely want to extend a second invite too, but there’s one of my homies who isn’t even dating someone and I want to give him a plus one just because I know whoever he brings will be in for a good time.

Velorama music festival is in my back yard and the organizers don’t want to piss off the neighborhood so they hooked us up with 2 free tickets to Modest Mouse tonight. Gonna drink some $10 beers then probably go back to my patio after an hour and listen to it and drink free G&Ts. Fancy Italian restaurant date night tomorrow. Sunday I’m going to enjoy doing nothing.

I’m sure she really loves me, but pretty sure there is a point at which me sweating profusely and out of breath will be a deal-breaker, so yeah, gotta keep getting in some cardio at least.

Falling Rock Taphouse probably has the most expansive beer selection in downtown, but Tap 14 across the street is a great Rooftop across the street and has a ton too. Breweries proper though, I recommend heading to RiNo area since there are a ton close together. Rackhouse, Our Mutual Friend, Epic, Black Shit, 14er, Beryl’s etc. You can take BroncoRide from LoDo for a few bucks from pretty much any of the bars on Blake.

Returning from a project workshop in Indy later tonight. Flight isn’t until 8 so gonna be spending a lot of time in the airport bar extending my travel hangover into tomorrow. Can’t wait to be home. Future Mrs. LoadLetter bought a nice new bed that got delivered while I was away that I look forward to sleeping in.

My brother just moved to Bernal Heights, and fuck me if the view didn’t make me want to almost pay 3 times our current rent just to have that. I was previously all excited about our mountain view (with a parking lot and lots of industry in between) and it’s not even close to the bay/hills view.

We finally got all the patio furniture, grill stuff, plants, etc. for our new place. Going to mix up some sangria and smoke some pork butt and stare longingly at our lime tree waiting for the limes to ripen.

If you’re gonna splurge on Champagne (or any decent sparkling wine), don’t drink it out of a flute, you’re not going to get the full aroma and taste. I know that I sound like a wine douche, but fuck paying $40+ on a bottle of wine and not getting full flavor.

You’ll love 5 gallon brewing. It’s a little more hairy maneuvering hot wort, but the difference in setup/sanitation for 1 vs. 5 gallons is almost negligible so it’s a lot more beer for your effort.
