As someone who joined the military, then went to school after getting out, I can relate to this issue. Not to sound like Dave, but the best advice for stuff like this comes from Jocko. Just do it, and get after it. It sucks, but a necessary evil.
If you come through Ohio, The Virtues golf club is the top public course in a great golf state. Easy access from I-70. I played there last week, phenomenal.
