FWIW: I always tip a bit more at breakfast places because the modifications made are the most, the patrons are usually then grumpiest or cheapest(the old joke was church-goers would give 10% to the lord and 10% to us) and the amount of prep work is the highest.
I worked at Chilis for a long time. Tipping on to-go was kinda considered a bonus by us. If there is a dedicated to-go worker, they were making $10/hr. Servers and bartender make $2.13. So for the most part I toss $2 on a Togo meal if it’s a restaurant, but I don’t always, and I don’t tip at places like chipotle, coffee, etc.
