Mauer never had a ton of power(no where near Sano) and obviously wasn’t gonna catch forever. Mauer’s contract is only bad because he can’t leave the yard and that’s a problem for an AL first baseman. Sano is a much better long term bet because dude rakes and in the latter half of his contract he can always DH. You have to pay up for that talent though, you can’t lose him.

Every Cubs Bandwagoner who bolted onto Clark st and raged for hours last night and after the Pittsburgh win are the exact same people who did the exact same thing in the exact same location after all 3 Stanley Cup titles. The bandwagon comes with the success and it doesn’t matter what city or sport. Embrace the bandwagon because with success, the bandwagon is inevitable. As a Sox fan, you have to remember the Sox craze that came with the ’05 playoffs and how it affected the fanbase in the following years. Sox set their franchise attendance record in ’06. Where were they in ’04? I don’t really understand why you think Cubs bandwagoners are going to pollute the blackhawks fanbase as if they all weren’t already blackhawks bandwagoners for the last 5 years.

That is the best course of action. Either join them or ignore them. Hating them doesn’t put you or your sox fanhood in a better place. Sox fans like that south side bar owner who offered free beer for every Cardinals HR makes every sox fan look really pathetic.

Arrieta threw across his body in high school and at TCU. Baltimore coaches changed his mechanics and he wasn’t allowed to pitch his old way, and could never make the adjustment and find the strike zone in Baltimore. The day he got traded to Chicago he talked to Theo on the phone and demanded he go back to his old pitching style. Wish granted. He and Cubs pitching coach Chris Bosio went back to his old step-across style and then developed his stuff from there. It worked out, I’d say.

I was at a bar in wrigleyville for the wild card game vs the Bucs and 4 Blackhawks fans dressed head to toe in jerseys, hats, and shit walked in and sat at the table they reserved. They demanded the bar turn one of the TV’s to the Hawks opener. The bar obviously refused their demand seeing as this was the most important Cubs game in over a decade and they were in fucking wrigleyville in a bar. They threw an absolute fit and made a scene in front of the entire bar before getting kicked out. If you don’t regularly deal with Blackhawks fans, that’s who they are. I’m a bandwagon Hawks fan and I love following them through they playoffs. I don’t hide the fact that I’m not a real fan, but holy shit 80% of Blackhawks fans I’ve encountered are absolutely unbearable. They 100% believe they are the epicenter of Chicago sports and that is comically false.

As a lifelong Cubs fan and a longtime season ticket holder, you have to embrace the bandwagoners and let them join the party. There are rules though. Two things piss me off about bandwagoners:
1: When they talk shit to rival fans over social media.
2: When they refuse to accept that they are, in fact, not real fans.
Baseball is a funny game. A broken bat flair here, a seeing-eye grounder there, or even a catchable line drive that you drifted on and Allegator-armed(Nelson Cruz) can make the difference in winning and losing. Anything can happen. But no matter what happens to the Cubs this year, one thing is for certain, they don’t suck anymore and they won’t suck for while, and that makes me really happy.

I love the progression of Todd throughout the relationship. At first he was along for the ride despite seeming a little reluctant. Now he fully understands just how painfully superficial and pretentious every single thing she does is, and he’s gonna toy with her by calling her out on one bullshit “hobby” at a time for a few more weeks until he finally dumps her…I’m hoping.

Keep your head up, Will. When you and mrs. DeFries settle down, create and raise offspring, and ship them off to college, you’ll get the chance to break out the ghost of #CollegeWill again. Hell you may even become a die hard fan of your kid’s school and invest in a tailgate spot. Don’t give up. You’re just going through a rough patch right now. Texas sucks and you really didn’t give a shit about them in the first place. Don’t let the longhorns ruin what was once an important part of your life. Tailgating is forever, Will.

…Said the girl with an IQ under the mendoza line who googled, “Marilyn Monroe quotes” after they faced a bottle of barefoot bubbly alone at their parent’s house in an attempt to find a new twitter bio. #MarilynMonroe #Idol
