I guess it depends what you describe as “sand”. I consider the desert to be filled with dirt and then dust when the wind picks it up. Sand is for the beach.
This 100%. I can’t recommend the Dave Ramsey approach enough, especially with you just starting in your debt reducing journey. I know some people have issues with some of his teachings, but he is a great foundation to start at and it will seriously help you get moving in the right direction. His monthly budgeting tool/website/app “Every Dollar” is worth checking out as well.
You can’t have a decent quality of life with a $100k+ monstrosity slung around your neck. The minimum payments increase over time and paying $500+ a month just to cover the interest sounds like hell. If you care about your quality of life, it’s best to sacrifice now for a couple years to pay it all off, and then enjoy the next 60 years with no student loan payments. How could you be proud of yourself when you’re 45 and owe more on your student loan than you did when you were 25? That’s torturous.
You pay off the car loan so that you free up more money to invest. Ramsey’s philosophy boils down to being focused and deliberate with money. The average person can’t be paying multiple debts and still be aggressively investing every month. You have to focus on killing the debt so that you can free up that extra money every month to invest. Putting away 3% a month isn’t going to get you anywhere.
This is probably the absolute worst advice I’ve ever read on any subject. You just said it is no big deal to double the amount of student loan debt she has. Yeah, why pay off 100k when you can pay off 200k!! She can pay off 100k in less than 4 years with a decent salary and a tight budget. I can’t believe you are actually on your way to being a cpa. God help your future clients/employer.
Did you participate for Rasmea Odeh? She’s one of the organizers. She is also a convicted terrorist who murdered two Israeli students with a bomb in 1969. The problem isn’t your message, it’s those you’ve endorsed to lead it.
Bush’s anti-war protesters, occupy wall street, black lives matter, and now this. It’s all the same people at the top using a different host to push their nonsense and make themselves rich.
Glad I married a woman who knows this is all bullshit, who went to work yesterday, closed two deals, added to her commission bonus for the month, then came home and made homemade gnocchi and sauce from scratch for dinner.
I don’t know if twitter links can be embedded here, but the video is out there. Kid didn’t even cross half court on D. Can only imagine how entitled he will be in 2 more years.

Got to respect a man who has all the means necessary to fix the problem, but just let’s it play out. A true hero of the cause.

Please. It takes about 5 seconds to read the signs and listen to the speakers at these rallies to realize it’s all political.
You would be correct.

But enjoy your pussy hats.
He’s not a “scientist”. He is a mechanical engineer turned actor.
Gitmo would work just fine.
I would have guessed Carolinas but they don’t serve alcohol so now I’m curious what restaurant this is.
All I see in that picture is President Romney.
Can confirm.
I asked myself this same question senior year of college. Decided against it now we’re married. Tread lightly.

Homemade chicken pesto pizza, wine, and the wife’s disgust over my infatuation with Corrine.
