Frankly, I think its a trash move to expect anyone else to pay for your wedding. the traditional who pays for what started when kids got married at 16/17/18 with nothing to their name, not quite the same as asking parents for a handout at 28. That said, if either set of parents offer to pay for something it would be rude to refuse.
