Part of this deals with the relationship SS had with Merle Haggard (RIP). He’s mentioned numerous times that Merle influenced him in singing and song writing. This makes it easier to call him a country artist.
I would take her at her word that she doesn’t care. Since y’all are new, maybe get her something small but don’t go all out. Next year you can play the “let’s get a pizza and stay in” game.
Pro tip to you and all the fellas out there: Bring your significant other flowers randomly throughout the year. You can get a nice bouquet for like $12 and rewards are well worth it.
Second consecutive low key weekend and I am here for it.
Tonight – dinner with the wife. We might do Mexican, we might do sushi. Not sure yet.
Tomorrow – I can confirm dog park Saturday will be happening. Unfortunately, I put myself on golf restrictions so I will spend the rest of the day attacking the spring cleaning that we put off last weekend.
Sunday – stay inside and lay around all day. Should be a good one.
I can’t speak on the golf but I’ve heard good things. I think there are canbanas that are available for rent poolside. There is a strip club not to far from the hotels that is interesting to say the least. Your Uber driver will know how to get there.
It really depends on what you are looking for. I did L’Auberge and it was good not great. If you want a lower key party with some golf, gambling, and good pool situation, this is the place. If you want some more excitement just drive the extra couple of hours to Nola. Regardless, the hooters in Beaumont will do wonders for your hangover on Sunday.
