That’s right, the same company that revolutionized the cab industry (err, is making it defunct) is joining forces with ASPCA and Cheezburger to help celebrate National Cat Day by delivering cats to your office for a $20 fee, charged to your card via Uber’s practical payment system, of course.
Fun fact: Cheezburger, you know, the Internet meme company who produces all of that nonsensical cat shit and refuses to spell properly? Surprisingly hard to get a job with them, so a friend tells me.
If the idea of using the company card on buying temporary kittens to channel your best Godfather impression isn’t enough for you, apparently you can get cupcakes out of it, too.
Uber drivers in New York, San Francisco and Seattle will transport the kittens, accompanied by shelter volunteers as chaperones, from each city’s partner shelter. As a thank you for every visit, Cheezburger is including a delivery of designer cupcakes created by celebrity pastry chef Duff Goldman, star of Ace of Cakes on The Food Network. In addition to the proceeds from each kitten visit, Cheezburger will make an additional donation to all three participating shelters.
So which annoying well-meaning girl in your office proposed this today? Go along with it. It’s for a good cause—plus, cupcakes.
