After stuffing your face full of turkey tomorrow, that’s when the fun really begins. You’ll spend all day Friday stringing up lights and putting up the tree, but unfortunately, the presents under it are off-limits until the 25th, or the 24th if you have a cool family. Enter the advent calendar. When you were a kid, advent calendars were great, especially if they came with pieces of chocolate or matchbox cars. Now, advent calendars are even better, because they officially come with wine.
That’s right, VineBox has just released their first ever wine advent calendar, and I’m so on board it’s not even funny. VineBox, a wine subscription service, has given us the best Christmas gift of all by packaging 12 glasses of wine into an advent calendar for us to drink every day leading up to Christmas. It’s a little pricey – $129, or $99 on Cyber Monday – but since VinePair specializes in curating unique (and expensive) glasses of wine, it’s actually not a bad deal at $8.25 a glass if you buy it once it goes on sale. Of course, the downside is that you’re only given one glass a night, so you may want to pick up a box or three to supplement your holiday drinking. Until Black Box comes out with an advent calendar to suit my needs, however, I think this one from VinePair will definitely do the trick. .
