Typically, the first thing that pops into my head when I see news footage of an apartment fire is an onslaught of Sweet Brown’s infamous one-liners, usually beginning with, “Lawd Jesus, it’s a fire!” It may be crass, but it’s gotten me through the past three years without God striking me down yet, so I can digress.
But news is news, and the time has come for a new prolific interviewee to grace us with her Internet presence. A new, shoeless wonder to take us into the new year.
And we have Oklahoma’s News On 6 Charlie Hannema to thank for it. After a fire broke out at Casa Linda Apartments, News On 6 sent Charlie to interview residents of the complex, like news channels do. That is the magical moment when fate brought him together with resident Michelle Dobyne. In Charlie’s own words, her description of the fire, well, “…is incredible.” But, in my own words, her description of the fire is “straight *fire emoji*.”
The rest, as they say, is history — that can, and will, be brought up at any given moment because of the sorcery that is the Internet. What a time to be alive. .
