The beauty of social media is that we can make our lives look a hell of a lot more awesome than they really are. But this photographer just put us all on blast my superimposing some well-done Instagrams onto the scenes that actually (or, well, could possibly) surround them.
Chompoo Baritone, the Thai photographer, did a social experiment to show that our online personas aren’t all they’re cracked up to be, all while somewhat poking at how fake everyone is with these humorous fakes.
As Dose put it:
And that, to a great extent, almost all of us “crop” and “filter” our lives to make them appear more glamorous than they really are.
Because when it comes to social media, especially Instagram, there’s a natural urge to make the mundane seem marvelous.
Guilty as charged. See her work for yourself.

I don’t know how to photoshop & don’t have instagram. I have photos from all around the world in some amazing places and they all look shitty. I get less likes then the girl who posts her breakfast

How did we nurture our extreme narcissism before social media?
