I don’t know about y’all, but I’m sick and tired of the 2016 news cycle. Not only is it your typical election year news cycle, it is full of quite literally insane editorializing. “Oh my goodness, Trump said this! Be offended!” “Hillary’s a criminal that can’t stop coughing!” “Microaggression!” “Is (insert noun) sexist?” “Zika!” “(Insert celebrity) died.” “Tim Tebow tries out baseball.” Horrifying. It’s been the most exhausting and draining news cycle of my life, and paired with the deaths of Harambe and Bantu, it’s almost too much to bear.
Thankfully, I stumbled upon the DPRK News Service Twitter account (@DPRK_News). It’s a parody of a North Korean propaganda news service that satirizes the 2016 news cycle. Things are pretty shitty, so at least we can make light of it. It’s surprisingly unbiased in who or what it mocks. They rip Hillary. They rip Trump. They mock Apple’s wireless headphones. They mock movies, Piers Morgan, Angela Merkel, socialism, and, of course, North Korean propaganda worship of Kim Jong Un. It’s pretty hilarious and takes the sting out of what a shit show the world has become. Here are a few of my favorites.
United States "Big Twelve" athletic conference to expand to fourteen teams, for reasons explicable only to mathematical imbeciles.

"Friends" is grim tale of aimless western youth leading lives of unmarried sexual degeneracy in brutal city filled by unaffordable homes.

Brazil president Dilma Rousseff impeached, bringing disgrace to office held by generations of noble military dictators and slaveholders.

US voters overwhelmingly reject Governor Gary Johnson as too sane and lacking in criminal background necessary for office of presidency.

The list goes on and on. Unfortunately, DPRK News Service needs to be careful as Glorious Leader Kim Jong-un has banned sarcasm in regards to his regime. It may be hilarious satire, but for some, it may hit too close to home. .

You know it’s a bad year when their satire reads as a non-satirical summary of the news.
Who was Bantu

Not sure how I missed that story but it’s pretty wild that two gorilla deaths are the greatest representation of governmental negligence and disconcern that we are experiencing in North America today.
