Pro athletes are always out there making the rest of us look bad. Whether it’s catching footballs in ways that defy gravity or dunking on baskets taller than your average suburban tree, they’re pretty much superhuman for a living. Well, this week Deadspin helped make us feel worse than usual about comparing ourselves to the pros by compiling a tool that lets you input your date of birth and outputs what percentage of athletes are younger than you. As if you needed a reminder that you don’t have millions of dollars and more dimes than you can count hanging off of you mid-way through your 20s.
They sampled the data from one of the big sport stat sites, Sports Reference, and took had pretty huge sample sizes considering the number of active professional athletes.
If you were born in January of 1990, you are older than:
20.8 percent of NFL players
24.5 percent of NBA players
30.3 percent of NHL players
8.8 percent of MLB players
At least that puts you firmly in the majority. You can figure out your percentage HERE.

Where it started to get weird for me was when I realized I was older than the Playboy Playmates I was looking at.
God damn kids and their sports, I got 100%
Sidney Crosby is exactly 8 days older than me. He has an MVP, a Stanley Cup, and a Gold Medal.
On the other hand, I can actually grow facial had and don’t play hockey.
It’s a wash.
