We’re two weeks into college football. So, eCollegeFinder had a look at the winningest programs in each state. There are definitely some shockers on here. The “winningest” programs are determined on the amount of total wins in program history.
Pretty illuminating map we got here. Pittsburg State has more wins than Kansas and Kansas State, which actually isn’t that shocking because Kansas State was once the worst college football program in history before Bill Snyder took over and Kansas football has been a joke for the majority of its feeble existence. Penn has more wins than Penn State. Northern Iowa has more wins than the Iowa Hawkeyes. Hot damn.
So who cracked the top 10?
- Michigan – Michigan Wolverines – 911 wins
- Connecticut – Yale Bulldogs – 876 wins
- Texas – Texas Longhorns – 876 wins
- Indiana – Notre Dame Fighting Irish – 875 wins
- Nebraska – Nebraska Cornhuskers – 866 wins
- Ohio – Ohio State Buckeyes – 849 wins
- Oklahoma – Oklahoma Sooners – 843 wins
- Alabama – Alabama Crimson Tide – 839 wins
- Massachusetts – Harvard Crimson – 838 wins
- Pennsylvania – Penn Quakers – 828 wins

Once again laughed that Wyoming has only one 4-year university
Nebraska is a Big Ten school, not Big Twelve
Fuck Nebraska, who cares.
Penn State would have had more than Penn, butt Sandusky…
That fact that UK is the winningest program in the state of KY with a losing record wow
The only purpose of football in Kentucky is to provide a distraction while we wait for basketball season.
So uh. Northern Iowa is FCS not FBS.
Has the state charter for Hawaii been revoked? I know that Alaska has no College football programs, but last time I checked, there was ONE in Hawaii…
Spelled right under Kansas, wrong in the article.
I caught it. My mistake.
Alumni just looking out!
Another fun fact Pitt State’s jumbotron is also larger than K-States
Just FYI, Missouri is NOT the top program in the state. Northwest Missouri State has a better winning percentage than MU. 56% for the Bearcats and 52% for the Tigers. Someone needs to do their homework.
These are real schools jr….
Just FYI, it’s by total wins (explicitly stated in the article), not by winning percentage. Mizzou has more total wins. Someone needs to do their homework, and work on that whole “reading comprehension” concept
