The ‘Thong Song’ Got A Pure Heat Update

Sisqo’s “Thong Song” may or may not be the greatest song of all time. Maybe not from an auditory perspective, but from a cultural revolution perspective? I mean, the song debuted in 1999 and now, eighteen years later, girls are just wearing thongs to the pool. Without the “Thong Song,” it takes at least, I don’t know, twenty years for the thong to break through into the mainstream pool day? I’m up on my roof on a Sunday afternoon trying to get my cardio (read: tan) on, and I can’t even focus on the book I’m pretending to read because of got thong bikinis left right and center. And at a family establishment in Murray Hill no less! All I can say is God bless America, baby.

Anyway, all that was the lead up to say that for some glorious reason, Sisqo did a new “Thong Song” video and the song got a pure heat auditory cocaine remix update. Check it out. This song goesssssss. And the video? Someone call Vinny Chase from Smokejumpers because the forest is one fireeeeeee.

I can get really down with one-hit wonders from the past just updating their songs and videos in the dead of night. Imagine if every week we woke up to something like that? Incredible!

PS – The original “Thong Song’ video is so perfectly 1999, all the way down to Sisqo’s hair and ‘fit. Get me that white outfit NOW. Summer of white in full effect and nobody knew that better than Sisqo..
