So it turns out Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are total assholes to work for, per a lawsuit that they recently responded to that claims they overworked their interns without pay.
Via Complex:
The Row is being sued for not paying 40 former interns, Page Six reports. The lead plaintiff is Shahista Lalan, who worked as a design intern at the Row and reported directly to the label’s head technical designer, who Lalan has some stories about. “She was very demanding,” Lalani told Page Six. “I was doing the work of three interns. I was talking to her all day, all night.” Lalani claims that the work caused her to check into the hospital for dehydration at one point during her half a year working at The Row.
The suit brought against The Row accuses it of abusing the intern workforce and making them do the work of full-time employees. “You’re like an employee, except you’re not getting paid,” Lalani said. “They’re kind of mean to you. Other interns have cried. I’d see a lot of kids crying doing coffee runs, photocopying stuff.” Lalani claims that she worked 50 hours week while interning with the label and didn’t get a single dollar or college credit.
Their company, The Row, is the type of place where you can buy $1,500 cashmere hoodies and $20,000 shawls. No, I’m not kidding. It’s the type of brand that absolutely screams, “High Maintenance Basic Girls,” so it makes complete sense that their interns would complain about working these grueling 50 hour weeks.
The idea of a bunch of college girls tip-toeing around in Louboutins while delivering skinny lattés and photocopying magazine clippings is a scene directly out of The Devil Wears Prada which is something I can completely get behind. Even the plaintiff saying, “You’re like an employee, except you’re not getting paid,” is preposterous. I mean, you know what employees that don’t get paid are called? Interns.
Spending a summer hanging out with the Olsen twins is like every college-aged girl’s dream, so to see this ungrateful lawsuit come to fruition is sickening to me. Like, these girls made To Grandmother’s House We Go and It Takes Two. They’re pretty much untouchable at this point.
I hope this case gets thrown out faster than an order from Starbucks one of these interns messed up. .

Luckily, she totes has the support of her loving boyfriend, a Big Four fincance intern she met while using her fake ID at a company happy hour, Todd.

I just got miyagi’d.
I’d add my own GIF…but I’m at work, and I’m kinda terrified to see what GIFs will pop up. Like that time my co-worker Googled “glory hole” because he’d never heard of the term….yeah. So I’ll just use good ole text to say thanks for the knowledge upgrade.
They look like aliens
It’s weird reading an article about hazing on PGP instead of TFM. Apparently the Olsen twins are FaF.
Anyone else just think “Welcome to the real world” while reading this?
The girl suing now has her own clothing line, so it’s hard to feel bad for her.
Yeah I felt no sympathy for the interns.
Do some push-ups Noodlearms and take a lap while you’re at it.
