It’s not even that I want a dog at this point. I need one.
I spent the better part of Q1 dogsitting for my friend’s parents bird dogs and I fell in love with them. Now with every Springer Spaniel or English Setter I see, a part of me dies inside knowing that I don’t have one to go home to. I spend time on Filson picking out collars, I follow like a million Instagram accounts dedicated to pups, and I stop in my tracks on the street looking like the heart-eye Emoji when someone rolls by me with one of those cute little mutts on a leash. But above all, I already have a million names picked out for every scenario. And no, I’m not divulging them here.

All I know is that I’d play with each and every single on of these pooches, from Max to Effie to Zoey Dachshundel. And I’m not too proud to admit I’ll do a baby voice the entire time, either. .

I feel like I have lost the last part of my childhood innocence seeing “Bud” as a stoner name. Now naming my first mutt bud after watching Air Bud, in first grade, somehow seems wrong.
I thought the exact same thing. They just completely spoiled that name.
Everyone in that movie had to be high letting a golden retriever play basketball.

I had a golden retriever named Toby from age 8-22. One hell of a dog, an even better best friend
I had a border collie named Sadie from 8-22 as well. Insanely loving and still remembered me every time I visited from school while almost blind and deaf.
I have a really unpopular opinion to share. I don’t like dogs. Don’t hate me though, I’m scared of them.
