Texas State Senator Tweeted A Failed Attempt At Homophobia, Then Fired His Social Media Intern

Earlier today, a Federal judge in San Antonio ruled that Texas’ ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. This ruling may have also led to one of the greatest tweets in Twitter history. State Senator Dan Patrick and self-proclaimed “Authentic Conservative” running for Lt. Governor tweeted this:

The fun doesn’t end there. Patrick then stumbled to find an excuse to cover up his attempt at homophobia. The natural course of action in this case is to fire your social media intern, which is exactly what he did.

Patrick then solidified his position as a bigot by clarifying his stance that two dudes should NOT ever be married to one another.
