Wedding season is just around the corner, which means that already, I have seven “save the dates” stuck to my fridge. Seven. With each one I get in the mail, I see the Caribbean vacation I had planned on taking this summer go just a little bit farther into the distance, because I neither have the vacation days nor the funds to swing both weddings and a personal beach trip. It sucks. And you know what else is annoying? The fact that every single “We’re getting married! Here are the days you’ll be missing from work and here is a list of places where you can buy us shit we’ll never use” card currently in my kitchen looks exactly the same. All of the photos were taken in the fall. All of the girls are in a puffy vest and riding boots. All of the guys are wearing jeans and a Brooks Brothers sweater. And all of the rings have been touched up on Photoshop justttttt enough to where they thought I wouldn’t notice. And it’s not just the “save the dates” collecting dust in my home that are like this. Nope. It seems like it is all of the “save the dates” that are like this…well, save for this one.
Jessica Dempsey and Scott Julian are huge Patriots fans. So huge, in fact, that instead of announcing their upcoming marriage with an overly edited photo of themselves (complete with a closeup picture of the diamond) they decided to do it with a picture of Bill Belichick’s face.
