“Have you tried that new brunch spot on [insert any generic street in America]?” is something you’ll hear way more in 2016 than any other year in history. As you inch closer to thirty, brunch becomes more of a scene than actually going out at night which is why being on the forefront of the best, trendiest brunches is essential to dominating your social circle.
Luckily, OpenTable released their top brunch spots in America by compiling over 5 million reviews and weighing their brunch rating heavier than their other ratings. The results, which should surprise no one, were dominated by New York and California.

Zingerman’s Roadhouse – Ann Arbor, Michigan
Me? I’ve only covered two of the spots — Zingerman’s in Ann Arbor and The Southern in Nashville — which means I’ve got 98 expensive-ass meals in my future. It’s truly my civic duty to dub this my official bucket list and I simply cannot sleep until I’ve sipped mimos and eaten Eggs Benny at each and every one. Fortunately, I’m going to Houston this weekend so I can knock out Brennan’s and MAX’s Wine Dive. But before then, I better do a Kickstarter campaign to fund this potentially outrageously expensive venture.
Wish me luck. .

Wait a second they forgot Waffle House
As much as WF gets knocked, I will rarely turn an opportunity to eat there.
When Bourdain went to Charleston for “Parts Unknown,” even HE made it a point to eat at a Waffle House…
One of the best shows on TV. Dude has the best life, just eats great food and drinks excessively across the globe.
#101: your local First Watch
No booze at first watch, real bummer
The Clubhouse in Oakbrook and Big Jones in Chicago are both excellent. Looks like a few more to easily knock out in Chicago. See you out there, folks.
little goat is kinda overpriced/rated, but their Bloody is one of the better in the city if you’received a bloody guy
My bumble profile says bloody mary’s > mimosas so this is right up my alley. Good lookin out.
been to summer house. their mimosas>bloody mary’s. just a fyi
Zias lago vista in chi is solid. Good food, great prices. $14 bottomless bloody bar and mimosas (you can switch back and forth if you wish)
Between our boy Johnny and the ratings on Chicago related comments, there has to be a lot of Chicago pgp’ers. Not sure if that in itself is a pgp or not.
Not sure how my local greasy spoon didn’t make the cut, must be the lack of entree options that are priced like running shoes.
Summer house is highly overrated, cafe babariba down the block blows it away
Brennan’s of Houston is a wonderful, fancy brunch. Bananas foster is their specialty. The building used to be owned by the Junior League. I’m really surprised to see Max’s on this list though, the food is good but I didn’t think it was top 100 good.
Unfortunately, this is a list of the “Top 100 Brunch Places That Take OpenTable Reservations”. There are a ton of places in Atlanta that are better than those listed, they just don’t take reservations.
Just what I was thinking. Ray’s and Poor Calvin’s as the best brunch spots in the city? I humbly disagree.
I liked Poor Calvin’s the one time I went there. I would never even think of going there for brunch.
Better spots for those reading: West Egg Cafe, Buttermilk Kitchen, I’m partial to Fado’s Irish breakfast, Front Page News, Silver Skillet, Ria’s Bluebird, Highland Bakery (original)
18 hours late on this response, but I’ll add Red Pepper, Kaleidoscope, The Nook and Ladybird to your list.
I second Buttermilk, The Nook, Ladybird, Kaleidoscope. And throw in Hob Nob for some awesome bottomless mimosas and a great build your own breakfast option. Basically anywhere in Midtown is good for brunch.
Good call on Ladybird, I completely forgot about it. The new outdoors area is a complete gamechanger over there. How different is Red Pepper’s brunch in comparison to their lunch/dinner offerings? Never been for brunch.
Red Pepper has some awesome Benedict and omelet options, and their bottomless mimosas are top notch too.
So.. Do you and CaseofBells want to get brunch sometime or what?
I agree, I’m a Houston resident and I’d say the two spots on this list are bottom of my top10.
Also, Chill, this Todd story I’m about to dive into better knock it out of the park with all these list repost you’ve had lately.
Brennan’s is nice for a family gathering / special occasion brunch but much too stuffy for your standard Sunday morning outing. Have heard good things about Max’s though.
I was at Max’s Sunday morning. If you live in Houston, they do have an epic hangover burger and Mac n Cheese. Just not top in the country material.
I agree about Max’s, and the building is too small.
Eh seems harsh.
I absolutely love Max’s Wine Dive. The Jake Cakes and Wings may be on my hypothetical last meal list
Yo Chill, there is a Max’s wine dive in ATX. No need to trek to Houston.
Baltimore holding down 5 spots on this list. Respect.
But where is Miss Shirley’s?
True. I do miss it just being a small place in Roland Park though.
Annapolis getting love is exciting since I live there… Looks like a decent crop of restaurants to try now in the DMV!
The Row in Nashville is better than The Southern.
